Hello, I’m Jason. I never bothered to attempt to learn to cook in all my years being married. Now I find myself in the process of getting a divorce and I’m adapting to the changes in my life. Moved back in with my Mother and Father after being out of the house for almost 20 years and am now staying in my Grandfathers old room. In the corner there is a nice shelf that I remember seeing up north when I was a kid. Right now I’m using a couple shelves for DVDs that I will probably never watch and the two bottom shelves are filled with Grandpa’s cookbooks. One day I opened one up and found something I wanted to eat. Cannot quite remember what that first thing was, but it tasted better than i expected. Utilizing the access to thousands of premium recipes, I made it a point to try new things. Would grab a random book and just start thumbing through. Never took long and I had something that I was excited about and good food coming my way! I have two kids (20 &16) that live with their Mom, about 25 miles away. Ayden comes over most weekends and we have a good time but Ashley works a lot and I don’t get to see her as much. As I was getting better and gaining more confidence, I would cook for them when I could. I’ve been throwing together some make ahead dishes for them and dropping it off in their fridge on my way to work. And I think I’ve found the perfect way to give some of the love I have riding here inside. Then I got to thinking about how easy some of these recipes are and the payoff is great! If I had known more, I would have been doing this years ago! How many divorced Dads out there have their kid(s) on the weekend and you maybe aren’t very proficient in the kitchen? Taking them out for fast food is way too expensive now! For probably less than half the money and a little time, you can make them something that is better for them too! One of my favorite things is to see the look of satisfaction on people’s face when they eat something I made. This will be an ever changing thing and I’m just learning as I go. Thank you to my cousin Justen and his fiance, Kat for helping me get this off the ground and helping an old man out! Thank you to all that visit!
